👋 Hi there, I’m Arundhati
I’m a final year Masters student at RPTU Kaiserslautern Landau.
I am currently a student researcher at DFKI Kaiserslautern.
My research interests are Generative AI, Diffusion Models and Image Processing.
Professional Experience
I currently work as a student researcher under the supervision of Brian B Moser and Prof. Dr. Andreas Dengel at DFKI Kaiserslautern. My work here focuses on Diffusion Models and their applications. My latest work aims to reduce the inference time for zero shot image classification using diffusion models.
I have 2 years of work experience developing recommendation systems for e-commerce clients at AIEnterprise Inc Bangalore, India. During my time there, I have designed and developed models to perform upselling and cross-selling of products on e-commerce websites. Additionally, I have contributed to improving query searches on these websites.
Apart from this, I have research and technical writing experience in the field of Machine Learning and Deep Learning with an emphasis on AI Ethics under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer as a former member of his Data Science and its Applications (DSA) group.
Master Thesis
My Master Thesis “Leveraging Multimodal Environmental Cues for Human-Robot Interaction” was focused on developing multimodal systems for intelligent social robots. To this end, I developed an audio-visual system that used environmental cues to provide context to the robot. The work involved developing an audio classification and simultaneous object detection system. Furthermore, modalities such as scene-text detection and and human activity recogntion were integrated into the multimodal sytem. These capabilities were implemented on the humanoid AMECA robot EMAH at the Robotics Research Labs Kaiserslautern. The integration of this system allowed EMAH to perceive and interpret her environment more holistically, mimicking humanlike understanding and responses. My work was supervised by Dr. Sarwar Paplu and Prof. Dr. Karsten Berns.
😸 Other Interests
When I’m not being a techie, I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening and crocheting. I also enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures of the world.
